Are you passionate about chivalry? The Fêtes Médiévales is the opportunity to attend tournaments organized by Griffon Rouge and medieval fights led by the Mesnie des Chevaliers de Saint Georges et de Saint Michel.
Comfortably installed in the natural bleachers, let yourself be impressed by this real trip back in time. Wild jousts, broken spears, sharpened axes, proud steeds... Enough to make you forget your everyday life for a day!
Thanks to the Maison des Fers Croisés, you will know everything about camp life in medieval times! This association reconstructs for you scenes of the daily life of the fighters of the time.
Leather and weapons maintenance, kitchen workshop, men-at-arms' tents... You will even be able to observe more closely the protection of the warriors! Something to impress young and old looking for a dive into the past.
During these days, Celestias will help you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere with melodies coming straight from the Middle Ages. Bagpipes, drums and strings will be playing for the pleasure of young and old!
Whether or not you have rhythm in your skin, Celestiaes and its troupe of dancers will also teach you a few dance steps from the era. Don't hesitate to join them if you feel like it!
Vytas Kraujelis is a Lithuanian actor, author and director who has been working with the Abbey for many years. Perhaps you have already seen his creations during the Fêtes des Contes & Légendes Fantastiques?
With his troupe, he offers you colorful shows that will retrace the history of the Duchy of Normandy. What better place than the cloister and its mystical atmosphere to discover them?
On Saturday and Sunday, a medieval market will allow you to learn more about the know-how of the period. Many craftsmen will show you their work: jewelry, natural stones, old books, knives, costumes, sausages, breads, alcohols and much more!
A little hungry? To recover from the emotions of the day, the Bistrot du Bec Fin welcomes you and treats you to its delicious specialties. If you wish, you can also have a picnic in the Abbey!
To make sure that these days remain in the memories of the little knights, the Abbey of Mortemer offers the costume to the children. Many activities are also planned to make your little ones happy.
Thanks to the Domaine Equestre de la Bonde, the youngest among you can enjoy a pony ride. If you wish, you can also compete with your family on our medieval games!
Take the opportunity to (re)discover the Abbey of Mortemer, classified as a historical monument. This place full of history will make you travel through the Ages thanks to the remains of its church, its 15th century dovecote and its Dukes' Path, a path in the forest lined with 15 wooden statues of the Dukes of Normandy and Kings of England. Guided tours are planned all day to discover the themed apartments or the museum of ghosts and legends.
